REPLACEMENT NEW BEER STONE MULLION AND MORTAR REPAIRS, CREDITON PARISH CHURCH, DEVON
Restoring stone windows in Devon and Somerset is what we do most of. This particular window needed a new piece of Beer Stone carved for the mullion and mortar repairs to the rest of the surrounding Medieval Stonework. The ferramenta (iron window bars) were also re-tipped in stainless steel and painted.
RE-LOCATION OF A NORMAN FONT, WHITESTAUNTON, SOMERSET.
During 2016 we moved three different fonts to enable the re-ordering of religious buildings, helping to adapt the building to be fit for future purposes.
REPLACEMENT OF NORMAN CHEVRON ARCH, EXETER CATHEDRAL, 1982
During my apprenticeship at Exeter Cathedral I set out, carved and fixed this Norman Chevron moulded arch, at this time I was awarded a silver medal at skillbuild, a national masonry competition. In 2013 I returned to carve the pinnacle and other architectural elements at the apex of the West Front gable.
THE WEST WINDOW, THE CHURCH OF THE HOLY CROSS, CREDITON, DEVON
Since replacing all of the corroding ironwork, 108 saddle bars and the tie bar through the width of the window in 2011, we have returned to complete numerous other successful projects, including; repairs to mullion windows, pointing, re-building of monuments, and repair work to paving.
Andy has worked on a large and varied number of projects for us over the last ten years or so. These have all been successfully completed to a high standard and to our satisfaction. Where needed Andy has always liaised and worked well with our appointed architect and other trades. We would have no hesitation in recommending Andy French for work.
